movie excitment!
I know, I know, I haven't been much of a presence on my own blog lately. But in my defense, I'm busier than you can imagine. Most days of the week I go to class early in the morning, come home and then go to work until late at night. Enough excuses though, lets get to the nitty gritty. Some of you have been asking me for more posts (apparently you are all bored at work!), so here you are!
While I was searching my brain for something, ANYTHING, to pop in and scream "BLOG THIS!", only one came to mind. For quite some time now, possibly years, I have been wanting a way to organize my dvd's in a database. Not just any database, but one where I can search for an actor, director, or genre and it will come up with all the movies I own with those options. I've asked people to make one for me, I even tried to do it myself after that one computer class I took. Anyway, my brother Ben came up with the best solution EVER!
He figured that such a program must already exist. Since it was easier for him to find such program than to write one, he did that favor for me, Thanks Ben! What he found is EMDB (Eric's Movie Database). It is unbelievable! The program is free and does everything I wanted and more. Instead of having me fill in all the information about a movie, the program pulls all the info from the website IMDB. Then, exactly like I wanted, you can search around for the movie you want to watch.
I can not stress how much I enjoy having this. No, I do not own many movies and it isn't that hard to just look at them. But what if I want to watch one of Becca or Joe's movies? I haven't yet, but I will be entering their information in too. Then guess what!? EMDB has an option to fill in a location field. This is where I put who owns the movie, aaahhhhhh!
I highly suggest the program, especially if (unlike me) you own too many movies to mention. Here is the link: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/emdbmovie.html
Enjoy!!
