font love

My mom has this book that has always sat in the living room. I suppose you can call it a coffee table book, but it serves more of a purpose than to just be there. I'm not really sure what it is called, but my best description is that it is a perpetual calendar which is used to mark birthdays and anniversaries throughout the year. I used to once in a while page through this book, and really liked it. Now, I want one of my own.

What does this have to do with fonts? Well, my search for a similar book has turned up with nothing. I did happen to find one that fit almost exactly what I was looking for on blurb, but if I'm going to buy one from there, then I'm going to design it myself. So now I am working on putting together my own perpetual calendar. There is a lot of work with creating my own layouts with this, but I'm kind of excited about that!

Here is the one I found, my layout will be very similar, so just to give you an idea: Every day is a New Day

Ok, maybe I'm not getting to the point quickly enough here. I L-O-V-E fonts! The best place I've found to download interesting fonts is dafont. I have downloaded numerous font to test for my calendar and now I'm stuck and need your opinion. Below are a few page mock ups, which one do you like the best (I'm also debating whether or not to have backgrounds)?

I like #2 and #4. Yes, do a background pic. But have it be different every month. That way you have something to look forward to. :)

Hey--I had my answer before I read Becca's, I just happen to agree. My fave is #2, next best is #4. And I like the background.
