"graduation"

Last week I completed my schooling at the Travel Academy. It was an interesting experience. After two months I "graduated" (no one I've talked to really likes to call it graduating) at the top of my class. We had an interesting group of people. Most from Minnesota, but also a girl from Miami and a guy from Puerto Rico. The different backgrounds provided for endless conversation topics.

I really did enjoy learning Worldspan (the reservation system they teach). It reminds me of what I have used at the hotels so it came kind of easily for me. I almost did switch back to becoming a flight attendant, since the class caters to both that and travel agents. Although I have still been swayed away by not enough pay. I just simply would not be able to pay my bills. So I'm hooked on the idea of being a travel agent.

Unfortunately what I was hoping for (getting a job before "graduation") did not happen. The agencies that are hiring are typically looking for someone with a few years of experience. But I have not given up. I have a few applications out there stewing in the minds of employers. Also, I'm debating taking on an internship to get the experience. This would mean staying at the hotel a little longer though, but I may just have to accept that.

If anyone has connections at a travel agency... GET ME IN!!!! I'm really excited to start and just need someone to give me a chance!
