this one goes out to you
I had stopped posting, if you hadn't noticed. I really couldn't think of what to post about, and I figured no one really read this anyway and wouldn't miss me. Well, out comes my sister who says that she checks it everyday hoping that when I'm sitting at home on my laptop a new blog will appear. No such thing was happening. Then an old co-worker Jill asked me when I was going to post again. Ok, I get it, people DO check up on me once in a while :).
So here we go. Becca and Joe were on vacation last week in San Diego and I was put in charge of watering the plants outside, among other tasks. This left me some good healthy motivation to take some photos of the springtime blooms.

There are a couple different lilac trees in the yard. These are the smaller ones that were just getting to the stage of opening up.

These on the other hand were out in full force, I love the closeup here.

Now, this plant I found very interesting, it appears to be growing out of the sidewalk (or crawling on it). Even though it is clearly in the ground/plant/garden area. I really liked this shot and the next one. Then when Becca came home she informed me that this is actually a weed. Oh well, I still appreciate it's beauty :).

This has been one of my favorites. I love the tiny flowers, although I wish they were a little bigger.

I tried so much to get a good shot of the Irises and I'm just not that pleased with what I came up with. But here a few of the better ones.
These are the two garden friends Becca has hanging around. The first image was actually taken when last fall was turning into last winter, but it's my favorite of this little guy. I got him for Becca at Target one day thinking she'd throw him out, but she loves him! We thought he had a name but neither of us remembers what it is. The second is one that came with the house. Since we moved in during winter I assume the previous owners forgot about him.
PS - all of these were taken with my point and shoot, proof you can still get good shots without an SLR.
