rainboots

A few weeks ago when the snow was really melting and we could see some green grass, I honestly thought spring was coming early. I haven't been excited about this winter much at all, and had a bad feeling about it from the start. Even though I have desperately wanted to get out and take some winter photographs. It has just been too cold for me to make the trip. So when green grass and clear parking lots started showing up, I saw the end. Snow and ice were melting so fast that puddles covered every walkway I went on. This ignited my desire for a pair of rain boots. One day I gave in, went down to Target, and bought this beautiful pair of lovely galoshes. They are actually quite comfortable. I wear them to work where I then change into one of the two shoe options that I have been leaving at the office. Becca, who scoffed at me for buying them, even proudly wore them out once.

delicious cookies

Time for a post from the pages of my sister-in-laws blog, it's all happening! A few weeks ago I had the urge to bake, this comes once in a while, sometimes I listen. Not just bake though, I wanted to make my Grandma's Delicious Cookies. I can't even think of how to explain these cookies, because they don't follow the lines of any traditional cookie. With ingredients like sour cream, nutmeg, and cloves, Delicious Cookies aren't extremely sweet, they are something different. All of my siblings will tell you that these cookies were a staple when visiting Grandma in Sioux Falls. I have made these once before, but they were not perfect. This time I think I came much much closer.

One of the main qualities of Delicious Cookies is their intense thinness from being rolled out.

The raisins are meant to be ground (grinded?) but I just chop them. It's a little easier, but leaves for bigger raisin pieces.
